Surreal

As unsettling as anything in a David Cronenberg movie or Being John Malkovich, here's footage of Gerald Ford and others making opening speeches for Rev. Moon in 1996. Watch, at 22:59, as the Washington Times owner takes the stage and begins a speech, in hysterical tones accompanied by an English translator who sounds like Stimpy, about God's "wanting to see this horizontal love relationship completed." In the audience, former governors and Maureen Reagan nod listlessly.

You'll want DSL to view this enormous file, which Moon's IT guy couldn't figure out how to stream correctly.
