Just what kind of man wants to amend the Constitution to enforce marriage?
Far be it from this blogger to see the fingerprints of Rev. Moon on every bill, but readers might be interested to know the marriage MC owner of the Washington Times has long been an advocate of rewriting the U.S. Constitution to enforce sex purity. And his army of Moonie grassroots foodsoldiers gets restless when not thrown a bone; in '92, disappointed by Bush Sr.'s lack of commitment to Moon's ideas, they apparently opted to stay home and catch up on "The Divine Principle" rather than take to the streets as in '88, when they sent campaign mailers for Bush.
All of which might strike you as less -- or, depending on your perspective, more -- nuts if you've read this Washington City Paper article from the Clinton years: "How the Unification Church Convinced the U.S. Government to Endorse its Holiday Honoring the Rev. and Mrs. Moon as the True Parents of Mankind."
